Is this any good?

Hi guys, i have just come across this http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&cid=5212&dgc=AF&fb=1&l=en&lid=122756&oc=N12M0920&s=dhs
can anyone tell me is this going to be any good for my 9yr old Niece as a xmas present?
Can someone tell me what sort of things she is going to be able to do with it and if it is a good buy or not or if there is anything within the same price range elsewhere available?
Many Thanks

It only has an 8Gig hardrive which is pitifull
And its that cheap, im not even sure it would have a USB port to allow a larger backup drive to be added!

  • under £100 there's not a lot of choice..
the lappy will be fine for web browsing document editing, 'paint' type program etc..
be aware the operating system is linux, not windows, so it will be unfamiliar to her (and me)

It has three USB ports. It's a superb price, but unfortunately I think Dell have mispriced it.

It's gone alright, if it is a mini they start at £269 with Linux but they are really for surfing on the move and basic office tasks. Shame would have been a bargain for £100 Linux isn't as hard to learn these days it is more secure when on line than Windoze, you can set it up to look and feel like XP quite easily.
