This happen quite a while ago (have only just found this wonderful forum board!) but it still makes my blood boil and I think customers need to know wat they could potentially be letting themselves in for orderering from this company.
After buying a car, myself and OH needed roof racks for it to transport kayaks. Had a look around on the web and these people were the cheapest (but still £49) so ordered off them. First email said they were out of stock for 3 days... this was fine and we waited... and waited... 10 days later emailed to ask when they would be coming. Email back saying they would email me expected delivery date the following Monday. Come Monday, no email. On Tuesday I telephoned and was told someone would get back to me that afternoon- no one did. I tried again on Wednesday and finally got an answer, they would arrive on Friday, two and a half weeks after we placed the ordered.
OH was off that day and instructed to stay in to receive them, they didnt come. This time he telephoned, and asked for the women who the original email (saying they were out of stock) was from. She wasn't there but he was given a number to contact her on. He telephoned this number and explained the situation; he got no apology, no expected delivery date and no explanation on why we were told they would come that day. Very annoyed at this point we cancelled the order and were told we would be refunded immediately. This didnt happen so I waited 3 working days but still no refund. And here is the shocking part: I teleponed again to be told by a gentleman that I had not been refunded because my OH had upset the women he spoke to and he wanted me to telephone them so that I could experience being upset on the telephone!
He also said it was completely unacceptable to call the women on her home number, and angrily refused to believe that it was one of his staff members who had given it to us- we had no idea that this was her home telephone number! I was very upset and reduced to tears at this point, and was rather concerned that I was not going to see the £49 again. Fortunately I was refunded later that day.
This serves as a warning to anyone thinking about ordering from them- I did what any angry consumer would do and wrote some bad reviews online, to find out that other people had had similar experiances with them too. Wish I had known this before ordering!
