Talked to a few computer repair men this week and they've all seen a huge rise in this
XPAntiSpyware 2009 virus which is NOT been picked up by Norton 2008 or Free AVG. Not sure if McAfee is catching it.
This new version seems to be installing multiple viruses and has multiple symptoms
- computer will shut down every 6 minutes
- Can't do a system restore to previous date.
- can't install any other program
- won't let you download antivrus/windows updates
- reroutes google/yahoo search results to other websites (through DNS)
- takes control of your desktop
and is very difificult to shift. ie reinstall XP (though not a reformat)
And it seems (from hearsay) to be coming from Bebo

Anybody getting same information?

Looks like Malwarebytes will remove it. Guide here - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/remove-xp-antispyware-2009
I'd run SuperAntiSpyware and Avira AntiVir after to be completely happy.0 -
Malwarebytes is getting rid of most of it, but not all.0
