Thursday 27/11/08 Wht small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking
  • move some spare cash to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • carry on cleaning and decluttering house
  • more stuff to charity shop
  • more stuff to recycling point
  • visit £1 shop looking for goodies for oldies xmas party - got to make budget stretch
Have a good day everyone, got to dash, will be back later:D

    Morning!

I'm not going to to the post and edit thing this morning. I'll just have to see where I end up.

    Today I have/will

    - update MSE diary - lots to report!
    - charge mobile at work (as we speak)
    - check online banking
    - go to the cheap shops for a dress for the weekend (I usually wouldn't bother with new clothes... but I don't own a dress *hee hee*)
    - washing at 30
    - dishwasher overnight
    - try to sparkle

I think thats all for me. Might add more later.

    Have a good day everyone.

    KT. x

  • Woo... I was sat waiting for the thread.

Not to have some childish race for second (;)) but because I am having a much better day and I want to share the love.

    Today I have:
    • Checked my bank. My ISA cheques have been cashed... which is brilliant. My £30 discount has come through for my Mum's present from Littlewoods... which is wonderful. And my dear OH has paid me back £50 of the cash he owes me... which is rather nice as well.
    • Checked my emails. No surveys, but my £50 Amazon voucher from Qype has been sent through.
    • Toast and coffee for breakfast at home, storecupboard lunch with HM yoghurt and something storecupboard for tea - which means no takeaways so far this week and I can have a naughty Friday.
    • All the usual carshare into work, tea, water from the cooler etc.
    • Charge laptop and phone at work. Remember MP3 charger and camera battery charger for tomorrow :D
    • Will do some washing on 30 degrees later (singing while I do it of course... nutters :D)
    • Possibly look at selling some books. As much as I love them... I won't read some again and they take up a lot of room.
    Have a good one everyone!
  • Good morning everyone...it's blooming freezing!

My Mum found out yesterday that they wanted to send her out to Mumbai on 9th January.

I somehow think that won't be happening now. Glad you're friends are ok lovey... I know my Mum will be straight on the phone this morning checking up on all the people she knows out there.
