Here Is Our Soa...ready For Bankruptcy ANY ADVICE
Comments
-
Rob and Miss Thrifty please be aware that the poster is preparing a SOA for bankruptcy and it is about maximising everything. It is not like DFW were you try and minimise everything.
Also your advice about council tax Rob is completly wrong, it will be included in the OP's bankruptcy and she will not be prosecuted.
Bear with me and I wiil go and have a look at your SOA, though they are not really my thing. I am sure the experts will be along soon to advise.Namaste DeeDee x0 -

You need to round your figures to the nearest £.
Is your income minus all claimable business expenses. I am pretty certain that you take these off your income first to find your household income so I think some of the things that are on your SOA will fall under that but one of the folks who know more than I do will advise on it soon I am sure.Namaste DeeDee x0 -
A family of five could generate 20 washes in 10 days, especially if all three kids of primary school age. And if one adult is (have I remembered this correctly?) allowed £187 pcm housekeeping, that's £126 left for three children and the dog.
Of course it's possible to save on this through careful meal planning etc, but every little bit helps for unforeseem emergencies, and with a family of this size the OP will almost certainly already know all about cutting corners on the housekeeping bills.
The children's internet provision - is this a necessity for school work? If so, perhaps you could ask the school to write a letter in support of you keeping it. Even Year 5 pupils are expected to do internet research these days.
EDIT: DeeDee is right about making sure you don't claim for business expenses, reimburseables etc as general household expenses.0 -
Hi Looney House
I don't often answer to posts just because i'm new to this too and would hate to give incorrect advice.
I spoke to the CCCS bankruptcy line the other day and they were fantastic. The guy said he'd go through my SOA with me at a later date. Our current finances for creditors states £383 for groceries per month (hubby and I plus two children 3yrs and 7mths plus a boxer dog) and he said that courts would allow me around the £500 mark.
I spend approx £80-£90 a week at the supermarket and that's trying to keep costs down believe it or not. Please don't slate me everyone, my baby is on formula milk and I go through one and a half tubs a week so £10 on milk before i've even started plus nappies etc. I cook all our food from scratch yet my bill is still this high.
Whatever the courts allow you to put down put down, the courts specify those costs for a reason imo xxI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

None of the regulars on here will slate you Completmess. What you have been quoted for housekeeping seems fair enough.Namaste DeeDee x0

Nothing to add to Deedee, Lily & complete mess's comments, really, other than to re-iterate that council tax arrears will be included in BR, and you must put all your allowance upto MAXIMUM, not try to cut back, as implied by others earlier in your thread.
Once last thing, who on advised you to leave your home? if you are in negative equity you wouldn't have lost it in bankruptcy.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
deedee, pp, completemess, lilybart, sound advice.
For a moment I thought I was on the wrong board.
LOONEY keep the groceries at that minimum, although I would up.
New info that BAAB posted stated 187.00 per month per adult, let alone the kiddies, so your looks allowable.BR 08/05/2008

so why are you payiung £1000 to a mortagage if your not living there- ...
They will allow for clothes.
Im sorry but £ 500 for food and laundry products, and food for dogs is way way too much .
i bought 20 washing machine capsules for £3.00 thats 20 washes.
try shopping around, aldi, lidl, homebargains, poundland , 99p stores. tesco , asda, morrisons
I wish i could come with you and show you how cheap it can be if you shop around and are sensible ....
  are you joking you cant possibly have 3 children then can you ?£500 seeems MORE than fair to me and 20 washing tablets with a family of 5 does not go very far at all having 3 myself i should know this has really made me quite upset !!!!!! i thought you were here to help it seems not goodness me its 2008 not 19880 -
i was helping and i do not believe that you need to spend £500 a month on grocerys , Not with the amount of cheap products out there ,
if you dont like my advice thats up to you but i could show you how to live exremely well of £250-300 a month for a family of five its all about plannning and not buying things you dont need .
