Bluewater Shopping Centre Vouchers

I have just tried to spend some Bluewater shopping vouchers, which apparently expired 2 weeks ago (they are now 6 months old). I was told they used to stamp them to extend, but have stopped doing this. Can they do this? The vouchers were brought for me as a birthday gift. Surely they are just another form of currency for the centre, for which they have received the face value in cash. So how can they have an expiry date?
Thanks

Yes, they can have an expiry date. Is this not shown on the vouchers?0

Have you got paper vouchers or a card? Most operate a card now, and the date isn't always on them - you generally get a receipt with the expiry printed on.
Personally, I wouldn't buy into that as it makes it awkward for the recipient, but it seems that's the way shops have moved. As Dave said, was there a date?0 -
Yes, there is a date on the front when they were purchased, and then in small print on the back that they are only valid for 6 months. It just seems like such a rip off that they were brought with cash (not a item taken back or exchanged) and yet they can expire. And only after 6 months as well!0

Yes it does make you wonder why that essential piece of information isn't printed clearly on the front - in bold!
Maybe they think that not everyone always reads the small print;)0 -
I personally find vouchers a waste of money, cash will always be king.
It might be worth contacting the voucher company, and enquiring whether you can swap the vouchers for valid ones or exchange them with the company.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Oh well. Lesson learnt. No more bluey vouchers for us (and yes they have switched to a card now!)
