Warning if you have an Ulster Bank Credit Card!

I took out the Ulster Bank credit card as seen on the MSE site for 0% for 6 months for a balance transfer. That was fine, problem is now I have been accepted for a Barclay card at 0% for 14 months (great!), but when trying to transfer the balance they have turned me down because the card issuer isn't on their system. Other excuses are that Northern Ireland and UK have different laws on Balance transfers??? They wouldn't issue me a cheque so I can transfer the balance that way, because you have to be invited to get a cheque!! and its only a promo thing. All in all rubbish!! my last effort will be to go into RBS branch tomorrow and see if they can call barclay card and authorise the transfer (Ulster is part of RBS).

Hubby had same problem transferring from Abbey Zero to Citi Group card - Are they all making this some excuse because of the climate??? any information would be a help! got till 22nd of Dec to move this debt!! EEK!
