Sorry - if you are unemployed and have ppi then the insurance should be paying out!
If you are not covered by the insurance bring a misselling complaint against them and get the insurance paid already refunded.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances
I would be persistent with writing to them- it seems to be the only way!
I sinscerely wish you good luckDebt /Overdraft/Everything Free December 2007 :j0 -
I recently cancelled PPI on both my Lloyds loans - and got full refunds to the tune of just under £4k
When i wrote, it took a while for a response. Then they acknowledged my letter by sending me the good old ‘caring for you’ leaflet.
A week or so later I got a phonecall telling me what i wanted to hear - Yes they will cancel, and Yes ill get a refund.
(this is after being told twice on the phone they would NOT cancel !)
In all I sent three letters and the whole process took a month.
Trick is dont give up – it can be done.
If they refuse, write again, and again, and again.

PPI Insurance is really expensive too. When I worked at Abbey I had to sell the stuff.
