Hi
Just a quick question. Do MBNA charge a fee when transferring a positive balance?
Thanks

Sounds like OP is considering BT'ing a ficticious balance from MBNA to another card, which will create a +ve balance on MBNA...as in the Egg Money Card Trick.
Might work, might not...depending on the size of the +ve balance and/or whether you get a 'reasonable' CSA on the phone.
Personally I wouldn't risk it...but I know of others who do/did before they got Egg Money.0 -
I'm thinking of taking advantage of my Egg Card Anniversary 0% transfer. I'm wanting to transfer say £7000 to my MBNA card to leave a positive balance. Is this not allowed anymore? I've done it in the past...

You don't need to use the MBNA card...the Egg Card is an SBT card.I'm thinking of taking advantage of my Egg Card Anniversary 0% transfer. I'm wanting to transfer say £7000 to my MBNA card to leave a positive balance.
You can BT an overdraft directly to the Egg Card, ie send your 0% anniversary offer cash straight to your current account.
However, with a 2.5% fee for 5 months 0% this is expensive borrowing and you're unlikely to make a profit...if that was your aim?0 -

Are you sure about the Egg Card? I thought it was just the Egg Money Card that could do SBT?
Also, I'm not looking to make a profit.. just to pay some stuff off.0 -
Stoozers were using the Egg Card long before Egg Money was launched. Are you sure about the Egg Card? I thought it was just the Egg Money Card that could do SBT?
However, don't take my word for it...see your T&C's (condition 9.3 second bullet) and the FAQ...
