i have £1000 to invest/save/ do whatever i want with for the next year. What would you do with it?

I suggested PBs because it's too small an amount, taken on its own, to be usefully invested or placed on deposit ( IMHO ). Of course, if there are already funds invested/in the bank, you could add this £1000 to the rest of them :-)0

premium bonds. I would also go for them as the interest that you would get in the bank is so small that you would hardly miss it.
