i have £1000 to invest/save/ do whatever i want with for the next year. What would you do with it?

    I suggested PBs because it's too small an amount, taken on its own, to be usefully invested or placed on deposit ( IMHO ). Of course, if there are already funds invested/in the bank, you could add this £1000 to the rest of them :-)

    premium bonds. I would also go for them as the interest that you would get in the bank is so small that you would hardly miss it.

    Or pay some off your mortgage and save money each month.

    If it were me, open a selef select shares iSa and buy BTEM, and leave for several years.
