just wondering, has any one experienced problems cancelling credit cards, i contacted mint to ask them to cancel my card on friday 7th november in the morning, and asked they cancelled card, they transfered me through to another dept and they asked why, told them my reasons and they said fine they would do it straight away and i would get a letter within 5 days to confirm.
No letter received so on 22nd november (saturday) i called them advised the above and the previous person hadnt actioned it or made a note of my request (and until i told them who i spoke to and the time etc, they didnt seem to beleive i called!) received an apology, was advised the card cancellations dept were closed on the weekends so the person i spoke to couldnt action my request, but would send an email to the cancellation dept and it would be cancelled on monday and i would get a call by the end of the day on tuesday to confirm
as i had no call i left it until today (wednesday) and have called them tonight (6.20pm) was again advised that no card cancellation request had been noted, (i advised them i was not happy about this, as its the 3rd call now!) and was again apologised to, however this person advised she would cancel the card straight away (even though the cancellations dept leave at 4.30 according to her) would love to know if she can cancel the card straight off why the other person couldnt??
makes me wonder if this time it will actually be cancelled or if i will have to make a 4th call!
has any one else had these problems or am i just being very unlucky? wonder if they are targeted about retentions and get penalised for card cancellations?
