How long for a debit card refund

I purchased some boots for my daughter at a local shop for £38.00 but the zip broke and I had to take them back. They had no more boots in stock so had to give me a refund. The sales assistant asked for my card and when she handed me the receipt I noticed that she had charged me again for them and not given me a refund. Eventually the manager came over and agreed that I had been charged again and refunded my card £76.00. Now the second £38.00 has cleared my account and I have not received my refund. How long does it take to get a refund on a debit card?. I am not happy as I am out of £76.00 until I get it.

i've found its normally 3-5 days to appear back on your card0

Refunds should take as long to reach your account as it does for purchases to appear on your statement (i.e. with a merchant name), although obviously this can and does vary sometimes.0
