Hi, recieved the following email today, not sure if its scam or not, just wondered if anyone else had recieved similar?
This email has been sent to you because records available to us indicate that you are a customer of Icesave. If you are not, please contact us by email at enquiries@fscs.org.uk.
You recently obtained a copy of our first email by emailing us at Icesave@fscs.org.uk. It appears from our records that the email address you used did not match the one registered on your Icesave account. In order to help ensure you receive our second email inviting you to log on to the Icesave website, we are now asking you to please log in to your Icesave account and update your old email address with your new one. We will then be able to use this updated email address to contact you when we send out your second email.
If you experience any difficulties with the process, please seek assistance by calling Icesave’s Customer Services Helpline on 0845 605 6050.
Yours faithfully

Scam or not, there cannot be an issue in logging in to your Icesave account to verify whether what they say is true or not. Just do not click any links in the emails you receive "How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620

I don't quite understand where would the scam could be in that. It's asking you to mail or call or log in (and no url given which could be redirected elsewhere), so would seem genuine to me.
It is perhaps worded a little oddly, but very similar to the second email I got from them today.0 -

I had the same e-mail today, doesn't look like a scam to me.I am an Accountant. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Accountant. All posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and should not be seen as professional advice.0

I got the same email, despite the fact that my registered email address was 100% correct (as evidenced by the fact that IceSave had successfully used it to email me since I opened the account) and was the same as the email I contacted them with.
I can only assume FSCS have a glitch in their system.0
