Putting pillows in the tumble drier every now and then to kill the dust mites is supposed to help.Joe

Thanks to the poster for this one, got one for my asthmatic daughter. Anyone know how long the filter and uv lights typically last on these and if replacements are readily available to buy?0

I bought one yesterday & promptly took it back! It was way too plasticky but more importantly too noisy to leave on in a bedroom overnight.
My overallfeeling is that there's no way that this thing could ever really have been sold for eighty quid in the first place!0 -
I bought one yesterday, and wow the noise!
I have an ioniser/filter in the bedroom as I suffer from severe hayfever. This has a very quiet hum. I was thinking of replacing it with the Woolies one, but it is way too noisy for a bedroom. I had it on in the lounge last night, and had to turn up the TV.
Once I went up to bed, things seemed eirily quiet.
Thinking of taking it back, not made up my mind yet.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

For anyone wanting a good air purifier the Goodsphere is great, a bit expensive at £40, but it works by washing air and you can see the water get dirtier.
will try to find a link. http://www.goodsphere.co.uk/ac's lovechild0 -
I have a good quality air filter and it too is too noisy to leave on overnight. TBH I don't think you can get a filter that would be quiet enough.0

The filter/ioniser that I have next to the bed at the moment is left on constantly on the lowest setting. It is about 1'6" from my head, and is wisper quiet.
Not sure of the model, but I think it is made by Mountain Breeze.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.
