Are these purifiers / ionisers any good. M-i-L (heavy smoker) brought one with her over Xmas, I didnt notice any difference, living room filled with smoke and smelled terrible next day.0

I'd like to know if they're any good too. I want to get something for my daughters' bedroom. They are 2 & 3 yrs old and both have terrible coughs at night for no obvious reason. Have been looking at purifiers, ionisers, humidifiers, etc, but haven't got a clue what the best one would be for their room!0

Coughing could be a possible allergy either to the bedding (feathers?) or to bed mites (every bed has billions - they feed on shed skin cells). You might consider replacing pillows and hoovering the mattress to see if this helps.Frogling wrote:I'd like to know if they're any good too. I want to get something for my daughters' bedroom. I think I will try to see if this is in my local branch. (I am too tight to pay the £4.95 postage unless I have to.)[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

They also have a smaller 3 in 1 air purifier and ioniser in store and online for 9.98, supposedly reduced from £39.99.

In the Exeter town centre store this was correctly marked up, but in Honiton it was marked at £19.98, though I imagine it would scan at £9.98.
Personally though I thought it looked pretty cheap and nasty and only think it would really be suitable for use in a car.
