....what do you do with cars that are no longer worth continuing to fix?

It's just failed it's MOT and needs over £500 of work doing on it to pass. It's got a fair few other things wrong with it too (but not things that are MOT related).

If we dont want to spend money on it, what to we do with it instead?

ebay it for spares or repair

or take it up the scrapyard
  • take lots of bits off it like
    headlights
    swithces
    indicator stalks
    engine sensors
    locks
    alloys
    rear lights
    wing mirror
    badges
    hinges
    radio
    indicators

    etc etc
all easy to sell on ebay

i sell indicator stalks for 25-35
    indicators 5 - 15
    sensors 12
    switches 3-20

    etc etc

THEN the scrap yard will give you money for the rest

post up what car...some are worth more than others for spares etc
  • The current price of 'Scrap' has gone right down in the last month.

It was 110.00 a 'Ton' in August.

    Now it is 10.00.

There are still companies who will take the car away.

Just drive it in for scrap and save the hassle of trying to make a few bob. The type you sometimes get turning up on the doorstep makes it undesirable.

Anyway PX car are going through the auctions at giveaway prices from what I've seen in the last couple of months.:money:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
