do the tax office sell your details

I've just last week registered with the tax office as self emplyed with a company name etc. As soon as I did this I've started receiving post to my business name.
Do the tax office sell you info on or have I automatically been put onto some kind of register and if so how do I stop this from happening?
Thanks

do you have a website, or other advertising. have you signed something and forgot to tick the relevent box to not passyour details on? these are more likely reasons.
i doubt the tax office could share these details.0 -

There is no way HMRC would share your info with anyone else. Apart from anything else, your tax records will be held in your name, not your trading name. My guess is that this has come from somewhere else you have done business with under your trading name.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
