Thought of another thing to have a go at - some smelly sachets or mini pillows. Have read about others making them on the Crafty for Xmas thread. There's a way here with no sewing... http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11355

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

I thought of another idea for a pressie. I bought a book from TK Maxx last week about Green Cleaning and there are loads of ideas for using bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and other items for cleaning around the home. I thought I could make up a green cleaning basket with microfibre cloths (bought a pack of 4 in Woolies recently for £1); vinegar, bicarb, borax, couple of essential oils such as tea tree and lemon, emtpy spray bottles so you can make up your own cleaning solutions, few 'recipes' on what to make with the contents.

This obviously wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea for a great gift but I think I know one or two people who'd like it.

Maybe a good Easter time pressie for Spring cleaning?

Just thought of something I meant to do this year and didn't
Use a square shaped short dumpy jar, put family piccys round each side, fill with marbles or something heavy-ish and use as paperweight.

Also -cobweb catcher.........gardening glove on the end of a pole - pole goes up the middle finger, stuff the other fingers, tie with a bow and its done.

rainmac - like the idea of the ''green cleaning' but please don't mention spring cleaning...............not yet..................lol

Rainmac - there's loads of things this year that I haven't made that look fab, so I might try and do those next year. Like you I'd love to do a fair, I think it would be so much fun, the problem would be finding one to attend.
One of our friends has offered to take me to a car boot on Sunday to sell some cards at 5am!!!!! I declined!!1 I haven't really got that much stuff to sell, but OH kindly said he would go, although I think when 5am rolled aroud he'd go back to sleep.

    cookie mix in jars,

Don't know what else at the mo 'til I find my notebook.

however I want it to be in a basket with a handle and hide a little pressie underneath (nothing expensive) and then plan a day out :D

Rusty - I spotted some baskets with handles in Home Bargains this week. It made me think of this forum because it said "make your own hampers". I can't remember how much they were - I'm sorry but I can check next week. The only problem is they were a dusky pink, but I suppose you could paint them, (they were wicker).

Thanks Melissa, I have been in there today and they had none in the one I went to. I know if push comes to shove and I struggle to find them reasonably priced the wholesalers sells 3 for £2.99 + vat which is fairly cheap still :D

I can't wait to get going on Christmas 09 - hopefully going to raid the january sales for hamper bits and would love to have a go at a Christmas fair - not sure how to go about that though!
