Audacity is a free audio editor. You can record sounds, play sounds, import and export WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, and MP3 files, and more. Use it to edit your sounds using Cut, Copy and Paste (with unlimited Undo), mix tracks together, or apply effects to your recordings.

...Or just update (if you haven't already) to Windows Media Player 10."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

I use FreeRip from https://www.mgshareware.com and find it excellent.0

EAC for the most accurate rips, combined with the LAME encoder.
Or for an easier solution, CDex gets my vote. Brilliant piece of software."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

I hate flaming iTunes, but I agree.
On the Mac it's great. On Windows though it does it up a lot of resources when in use. A modular app like Winamp is much more preferable and lighter.
I basically like to use a standalone ripper with the LAME encoder that tags everything for me via freedb or cddb. Nice, light and accurate."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
