Australia Working Visa

Hi, just a quick question is it true you are only allowed to apply/get an Australian Working Visa once and once only?

  • It was when i had mine for working at the Olympics in 2000. You also had to be under a certain age, not sure if that still applies though as obviously 8 years is a long time.

I've not looked into it myself - but I think you can only have the one, unless you do a certain amount of manual work (like fruit picking etc) in which case you are able to get another.

You need to be under 30, can apply once and the next working visa you could apply for would have to be a skilled working visa - i.e nurse, engineer or get sponsorship from a company that perhaps employed you when you were there on your original working visa.

It's a very confusing subject which I am wading through at the moment :(

IF during your first period of WHV you did - and have proof of - 3 months work on things like fruit picking then you can apply for a 2nd WHV
