Student Money

Options
I need to know a good place for my daughter to put her money. She opened 3 cash isa's over the past 3 years with her student loan but now they are paying less interest than the 3.8% she is paying on her loan. She has isa's to the value of about 10k but at present owes 13K and looks like at present she is only receiving around 3%. Can she transfer these to another bank paying higher without opening a new ISA?

Comments

  • Yes, she can transfer them - although some providers don't accept transfers.

If she doesn't need access to the money, then Halifax have a fixed rate ISA at the moment paying around 5% which accepts transfers.

When transferring ISAs you must fill in an ISA transfer form. Not do it how you usually do with banks.
