Wednesday 26/11/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking
  • move some spare cash to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • carry on cleaning and decluttering house - looking sparkly already
  • make flapjacks in remoska for DD nd OH
  • take a load of stuff to recycling point
  • drop off a bag of stuff at charity shop
Good morning everyone, another freezing cold day here today, not got far to go outside so don't mind.Don't have time tody dor swim and jacuzzi so will have to give it a miss. Hope you are all well, hugs to those still suffering with icky tums and sore throats.
Welcome on board to any new posters:D and hi to all the regulars:hello: :hello:

Catch up with the thread later:D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • SM and Hi Miss P – ok here’s one for you SM, sparkly socks at the ready, dancing is considered optional but generally good as it’s a DFW free way to exercise............. Here’s one we all know - its the Laundry ‘Hokey Cokey’:

“You put the washing in (of course at 30o, with vinegar for softening)
You pull the washing out (give it a good shake then it won’t need ironing)
You put washing on (airing drying in cupboards, radiators and clothes driers)
And then you shake it all about (when it’s dry so, no ironing – woo hoo)
You do the DFW shuffle and your money turns around ( – thanks MSE’rs)
AND THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!!!!!!”
Repeat as many times through the day as necessary....
......’Oooooooh You put the washing in........’

Sing in your worst/best voice, silly socks optional of course. Sorry Sophiesmum, since last night you said it last I have been singing this in my head, improvising with very silly dfw words!!

My list ist today – if I can stop laughing. Stripey socks over the knee neon coloured AND they match!!, leggings under jeans, sedate blue thermal top (sorry Piq, don’t have a pink one) big jumper as its freezing and of course the heating is now off!
DFW laundry hokey cokey (probably only once today)
Pay cheque into bank for extra job
    Check bank
    Charge phone at work
    Write up report
    Sort lodger room at lunchtime
    Finish curry
Make some more apple crumble with free apples
    Chase up invoice
Pay something more to sofa being upholstered (its ready woo hoo)

    Part of the Furniture
    Good morning all,

Last night I got two signature to my Coop Area Election nomination form. If Im elected there is a 2k payment! And of course I get the satisfaction of helping my fellow man.
Yesterday I also posted some more books I sold on Amazon, I have now made £133 with them.

    This morning:
I checked my bank account and I have been paid, yeah! I now need to find where the extra £100 came from!
I signed up to Trials4Us to sell some blood, £100 if I do it.

I have just printed off the Walkabout free buger couper, good for 7 days.
I will pick up a free Pret card with the £2 credit.
I looked up financial literacy courses and found the OU one which gets good reviews here. I have made a note of it and will sign up when we have found a new flat and settled down http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/tasters/db123/.
I have to plan some dinner for tonight, baked potato and cheese perhaps?

    Andy
