Phew - I am off the starting blocks now that my payments have cleared. I should be able to do another £900 tomorrow and then dribs and drabs for the rest of the month.

As for what people are counting - yes it does include your ordinary monthly payments as well as any extras.
so if you start the year owing £20000 and at the end of the year you are debt free - you have completed your challenge! How you do that is up to you!!

Taxi, I'm the same - my payments come out at the end of the month, and the extra overpayment has to be £500, so it takes a while to save up for. I'm sitting here at £0, and will be till the 18th!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
