APD increases in next two years

I never saw or heard this being publicised by the Government, but they've announced (presumably in yesterday's pre-budget speech) that APD is increasing from £10 to £11 in 2009 and to £12 in 2010 for short haul flights. Larger increases for long haul but that gets messy as they've also made it a lot more complicated with 4 bands from November next year.
Cheers Mr. Darling.

It was done quietly! It has been all over the travel industry press today. Once again it is the travel industry that gets stuck with yet more tax and everyone who books flights will end up paying more yet again!:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j
