Hi, I have an SD memory card for my digital camera and have uploaded photos to my laptop loads of times through the memory card slot.
When I did it last time, it said to open the info i needed to format the memory card. So i went through the process, pressed start and about 30 seconds later a box appears that says 'Windows was unable to complete the format'.
Pleeeeeaaaaase help, i'm pretty good with computers but been at this for 2 hours and still go nowhere.
Cheers

As long as you're aware that formatting will erase everything on it, use your camera to format it.0

Yeah , luckily i've already put all my good pics on!
Thanks for your help i'll try it out0 -
Just formatted it on my camera and still getting the same message! My friend tried my memory card in her laptop and it was fine so its obviously my memory card drive or the driver for it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated before I throw the whole thing out of the window through annoyance!

If the card reads/writes fine in another machine then the card is probably fine, but one of your readers is iffy.
It's a question of elimination to determine which. Try your camera, then her laptop. If that works, try your PC then her laptop.0
