Refused Natwest Step Account!

i think i must b the only person to ever been refused a step account ! rofl! i got an answerphone message today with sorry youve been refused no explanation mind! ive just gone onto a DMP with CCCS i thought it was dead easy to get this account!?

I'm the 3rd then!! I actually have a full functioning Nat West advantage gold account - never been overdrawn, always in credit, have money paid in regularly. I went in today to ask if I could have a step account (as I want a separate account for other reasons, but one that I can't have credit facilities) and I was refused!! How humiliating. He opened a Saver account for me but that's not what I want. I feel inclined to shut both of them now.

I got turned down for one and so did my friend. I complained and was sent a letter explaining that they do a full credit check for ALL their products and as a result of this I was declined.

If you owe money to any other part of the group as part of your DMP that would explain it.

As I posted on another thread, I had no problem opening a Natwest Step account and I'm on a dmp. I have no debts to RBS group though, so that could be a reason.
