Not much use for male boss I think, but I did secret Santa for £5 at work and got a red Christmas lantern from Pier for about £4 as they had 20% off. It had (white) marshmallows in it. I took out one packet of marshmallows to use in a friends Christmas box, added in 2 candle holders (30p each from Pier, again with the 20% off) and added in a couple of candy canes.

Nice red and white themed Christmas gift for £5. Hurrah!!

For the person with the male boss - Play.com are doing gifts for £5 again and some of them would be good for this sort of thing. Comedy mugs and the like. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips but I went into BHS last week on 20% off day and got a Jack Daniels miniature with a glass and a few chocs reduced from £10 to £5 then a further £1 (20%) off so well chuffed...now THAT wouldn't offend anyone (unless they were TT!)

The Play.com ideas looked good though...

I've never heard of Secret Santa's for a tenner..I'm not sure about anyone else but if you're not immediate family or a partner in our family, you won't get anything for more than a fiver so I'd definitely not be happy spending that on someone I only work with.

What about a nice pair of slippers or a book chosen by you. Or a series of Friends. You can get them for around £9 and they're a great pick me up..Choose series 7 ;)
  • I always do a "mini hamper.

Small bottle of wine, bar of chocolate, smellies and a candle.

This year the person I am buying for loves shoes so I am getting some of Sainsburys Chocolate Stilettos and a mini bottle of Rose wine.

A little bit of everything I always think is a good idea as i'm sure there will be something that the person likes
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

My team at work does Secret Santa with a ten pound budget.

I put aside twenty pence a week to pay for it.[/lie]

Yes I have decided to go down that route, a bit of everything in a small basket all done up, it will do the job!!!
  • Hi, I bought a makeup bag (black and gold) very pretty and trendy from Next - it was £4 and I love it ... especially when I opened it when I got home and realised it has leopard print lining inside! I bought the makeup bag for secret santa and also a glitter eyeliner set with 3 different coloured glitter eyeliners for £5 from Next. I think this will make a lovely secret santa and £1 under our office budget of £10.00! Woohoo! I usually go down the mini hamper route but fancied a change this year!
