Removing copywrite protection from a dvd player

We own a Alba rdvd1001xi dvd recorder.
Im wanting to copy a Dvd for my brother of his wedding. It wont let me as the Dvd concerned had copywrite protection on it.
We were originally going to buy a 2nd copy but as his wedding was 5 years ago we dont know where the man that shot it lives anymore.
So I guess im asking is there anyway we can lift the copywrite protection so we can send my Auntie a copy of the wedding
