Can someone recommend me a share broker

Hi,

I'm looking into buying some shares and would like to know whats a good broker to go with. I have heard people recommend selftrade as you can get £70 to £80 back from a referal. But is there a broker that offers cheaper deal rates.

I need the ability to do European and N American trades, though won't be trading very much on the account, maybe once or twice a month, and would prefer not to pay a monthly charge.

Looking to do it only online, and don't want the certificates, all held electronically.

Any ideas?

Hoodless brennan is what I use.

Barclays wont charge a quarterly fee if you use it at least once.
Will hoodless quote a live price even when its busy, 8.05am for example
