Seems like they are planning to cancel services.

Good spot. Usual Ryanair tactics. Fire a public warning and if they don't get what they want, then they will carry out the threat. If I was Blackpool airport with their dwindling selection of services, I'd find a way to compromise and fast. Otherwise there will be very few passengers to charge their proposed £10 development fee to anyway.0 -

What do you base that on?
The way I read it Blackpool Airport have only themselves to blame for trying to impose another tax on their customers.0 -
The problem Blackool airport has is it, like all other regional/ small airports do not charge Ryanair any landing fees - so they have to get the money some way - most (like Liverpool) hike up the car parking charges. The problem Blackpool has it is so close to the town, there is loads of free parking near by, where you an just grab a cab for say £2 to the airport, so why would you pay £5-8 a day to park your car.
They should turn the tables on Ryanair, and say if you produced enough passengers for us to eat and drink and buy duty free's at the airport we would not need to do this. So Put on 4 more daily destinations and we will scrap the charge!0
