Have been running AdAware SE Personal for ages. Those in the know that for updates you have to download definitions from adaware's blog site.
I have a rule not to download new software such as AdAware 2008 until it is tried and tested. Do you think it is best for me to change to AdAware 2008 or stick with the old adaware se personal as long as updates are available? Any differences between the two? I run windows xp.
Thanks in advance for the replies.

The new version works fine for me, on XP, I just don't find it as good as alternatives.0

Ad aware 2008 has been around for ages now, and I've never had any problems with it.
Do Lavasoft still support SE Personal?0 -

I used to use AdAware SE, but when 2008 came out I stopped as it just seemed so bloated. I find Spybot and SpywareBlaster do a better job. MalwareBytes seems to be regularly recommended for spyware scanning/removal too, though I haven't used it myself.0
