My daughter has had an eee pc for a while and can't get on with linux. As usual she's dropped it off here expecting me to sort it!!!! I have downloaded xp lite onto an sd card. I am fairly pc literate but just wondered if any one can talk me through it. Do I need to format before I run xp lite? I have installed xp and vista on numerous pcs but it just did everything for you and prompted when anything needed doing. I don't want to trash her machine!!!! Thanks.

I'm afraid I've never used the software in question, but doesn't it come with any documentation?0

I have a eeepc, but it came with XP already so I haven't done this, however I've found the eeeuser site and forums very helpful when I've had problems.
Here's a link to their tips on installing xp, and the forum incase people there can help too

XP Lite is an application you install after the installation of Windows XP. You then run it and it allows you to remove normally unremovable options. It works really well.
An alternative is nLite which allows you to create your own installation CD, choosing to strip out the same options as XP Lite does. One advantage of nLite is that you can add applications and drivers so that it basically becomes a recovery CD.0 -
right, connor. maybe its not xplite then. Its eeeXp sp2.0

I would assume if it's a copy of XP, it will give you the option to format the drive during setup.0

hi , i installed XP (full ,as i havent got the lite / nlite whatever..version) on to acer one 1G/120G - using a usb lead with an internal cd rom
like marty said, as far as i can tell its no different to installing XP to any other desktop/laptop. i made mine into 2 partitions 60G each , got the new drivers for my acer 1 - job done :rotfl:0
