Apologies if in wrong thread but does anyone know if www.direct4home.com are legit? They've got some toy deals that seem to good to be true. (all half price). They are supposed to be part of world of linens but apparently they are closing down that site and concentrating on selling toys. Alarm bells ringing - domain only registered last month.

Looks ok to me, although it looks like the site has been produced in a rush, click on the 'about us' page and you'll see what i mean.
My only concern would be that if the website was produced in a rush, what are the logistics going to be like, from placing an order?
The phone number is the same as advertised on the World of Linen site, so that seems to verify the connection.
In general, after looking at the t&c's of this site, and knowing all other sites have the same clause stating that the 17.5% vat is included in the price quoted.
As from Monday the vat will be 15%, if the term isn't changed to reflect this, could you in theory demand a 2.5% refund?
Obviously looking at high cost purchases.0 -
I have just received two orders from this company.
Top quality stuff.
You need not be afraid to buy from them.0 -
I ordered from world of linens last week and was expecting delivery within 48hrs as it says on website. It didnt arrive so I emailed them and got a very apologetic email back saying that they had received so many orders that they were a bit behind so should be here any day.
Do be aware that although there is obviously a connection to direct4home linen prices are cheaper on world of linens! eg pr hand towels £4 on D4H but only £2.50 on WOL0 -
I would be interested to hear if anyone has had an order delivered from World of Linens recently as mine still hasn't arrived! Someone else has also been enquiring on another thread as they have waited 2 weeks too.0

i have been waiting for over about that amount of time too, but i have given up - i called them a few times and was put on hold for over 20 mins, sent them emails which have been ignored and so i thought it was best to call the bank to dispute the transaction...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. worldoflinens is now called direct4home,why, i do not know as they sell the same products and have the same tele number.Avoid them i have had terrible probs with them, they dont know their rs from their elbow.I ordered over 2wks ago and despite numerous phone calls to them, they assured me i would get my item and that it was in stock.Fast forward over 2wks later(bearing in mind they promise del in 2days)when i eventually spoke to someone i was told item out of stock.I dont think they ever had the item in the first place. They were fast enough at taking my money which they say has now been refunded and will take 3days to show in my account.I no longer trust a word they say and will be checking my acc on Monday,if no money in i will be reporting them to Trading Standards as its false advertising taking money for goods you do not have, and i will be looking to my bank to get my money back0

Whoo hoo! I just got an email from them saying my order has been processed for shipping! I will LYK if/when it arrives.0

Well, as promised my order just arrived, well some of it did! I have had to email them as 4 items out of 13 are missing but listed on invoice.
I have to say though that the quality of the towels and bath robe I ordered is def first class! Pity they cant seem to get their act together as I think if all had gone smoothly I would have put another order in!0 -
hello:
I too am having problems I place an order on 28th nov and still hasn't arrived. Tried to ring them but every time I was put on hold for 15 minutes and then cut off. I found an alternitave no to ring to the 0845 no which is 01274853650 and I managed to get through to someone! The lady was very polite and apologetice, and said they are a bit behind because of huge orders being placed before xmas. I should get mine end of this week or beginning of next, which is quite long to wait, but I will just have to. World of linens is now Direct 4 home and the WOL website is closing down. They do seem to be a legit company. Here's hoping I get my order before xmas. IWLYK.Housework only gets noticed when it's not done.My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them. Can never keep up with the thread - otherwise I'll never get anything done! But hugs to All :grouphug:XxX0 -
WARNING!! World of Linens/Direct4home
Do not buy anything of any of their sides, they do not deliver however they do take your orders and your money. They have gone under but seem to be prepared to take as much money of you as they can and they do not deliver any goods you purchased. The only still working phone number is the nr. where you can order. They pretend there is a customer service line but you end up in and eternal voice message.
