Wondering what to put on your Christmas list?

Or, like many people do at this time of year, thinking of how to help others?

How about asking your friends and family to make a donation on your behalf to a wonderful organisation called Birth Companions? (https://www.birthcompanions.org.uk)

Birth Companions is a small charity, providing a much-needed service to pregnant women and new mothers in Holloway prison. Many of the women we support are a long way from their homes and families. They often have no one to support them during their labour and help them welcome their baby into the world.

We provide trained birth companions to look after women while they are in hospital and in prison. We offer support during pregnancy, childbirth and with breastfeeding and postnatal issues.

This is what some of the women we have already supported have said to us:

“You made me not so worried about the birth as it was my first and I was scared.”

“You treated me like a person, not a prisoner.”

“I would have been so alone. Thank you for being there.”

Instead of a gift, why not ask your friends and family to make a donation to Birth Companions by clicking on the link below:

http://www.thebiggive.org.uk/charity.php?charity_id=4022&charities&keyword=birth%20compan&orderby=relevance&orderdir=DESC&record-offset=0

(If this link doesn't work, either copy and paste it into your browser or simply go to the Big Give website - https://www.thebiggive.org.uk and use the search facility to locate the page for Birth Companions).

Please note that after 1st December, all donations will be matched by the Big Give so that your donation will be worth twice as much!

Thank you very much

Caterina
