If this is not a joint account, then it is not a problem if beki signs the letter and cheque.

In fact if the CCa were to come back with her sig, then she would have a brilliant oppportunity to take the DCa to the cleaners, the OFt, FO, TS and all.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • never thought about them having my sig and what they would do with it.just my luck it would cause a debt in my name to come out the woodwork. why is it when we start trying to sort out the debt problems everyone throws obstacles in our way.
  • Hey folks,

Just thought I would share my Capquest 'experience' with you all.
I received a Capquest letter about 2 months ago now saying I owed money to the Bank of Scotland. i had a Bank of Scotland account about 10 years ago but closed it with a zero balance. Please bear in mind this was sent to my parents house where I have not lived for about 10 years.
This letter from them claimed that I owed a couple of thousand pounds and that they were filing for Bankruptcy. they used all sorts of technical law language and it scared me. I had never received any calls or letters prior to this.
I contacted the Consumer Action Group and i was sent a really helpful email with template letters attached. Basically the one I sent to them stated that I wanted them to provide evidence of the debt etc along with original paperwork from BOS.
I sent the letter back asking them to also contact me within 21 days or I would be going to Trading Standards and CAB. Letter was sent recorded next day delivery too.

To this day I have still not received any mail or phonecalls from Capquest so I contacted CAB and they say it's up to Capquest to get in contact so my part is done.:j
Touch wood the matter is now settled.
I really think this lot are a bunch of *ank*rs who are out to make people's lives a living hell.
Please get in contact with a Consumer Debt company asap as they are on your side.
DON'T LET THEM SCARE YOU! :A
