Does anybody know what might be the cheapest way for us to withdraw £1600 pounds in Germany?
We need to make a deposit on a flat by SUNDAY(!) - eek! - and needs to be gotten in cash to give to the landlord on Sunday, when all shops and banks are closed in Germany.
About our accounts: I've got Nat West and Lloyds TSB, girlfriend has Santander.
Worked out Western Union, where £1500 would get us £1650 - (according to XE.com £1500 is nearly £1800...)!!!
Any cheaper?! How about withdrawin money out of machine each day at £300 a pop until we get £1600 out? Anybody know what we're likely to lose out on fees and rates etc?0 -
I realise the above is a difficult request, but if anybody can offer any advice it'd be greatly appreciated!0

Hello.
Reading through these articles I cannot see any news on Nationwide's decision to revoke the free cash withdrawal in Europe on its Debit Card.
This is all over the interweb and in November 2010, a percentage fee will be applied to withdrawals using the Nationwide Card.
Since I am classed as a new user I cannot post a link but if you do a search on "Nationwide fee-free debit card" you'll get the picture.
QUOTE from one article....:
"customers who have a FlexAccount will pay both 2% commission and one pound withdrawal fee on transactions abroad from November 2010."0 -
I need to get £5K approx to my sister in the USA. I went on the XE.com site but couldn't see which links to click on plus it looks like they just convert currency and send it to you in this country.
I went on Moneycorp.com but that's complicated also.
I just want to send money from my account to her account. I have all her bank account details.
Also, I don't understand how they can just send the money from my account to an email address? Am I slow?0 -

In some countries, there is a system in place which allows you to make payments using the recipient's email address. As far as I know, that's not one of the options XE offers.
If you have your sister's bank account details, you can send funds from your account to XE, who will convert them and deliver them into her bank account. You just add her account as one of the recipients on your own xe.com account.
Did you read through the FAQ on the XE website? http://www.xe.com/fx/faq.php#faq0 -
Many thanks for the info.0

You can't have looked properly. It's been covered to exhaustion and more on these forums. If you mean 'this thread' then it's not really the right heading.0 -
Don't know if this is good or not, but what about Moneybookers. they seemed to have been be around for a while, and are used by many casinos/betters.
They do charge a small fee for sending and receiving.0 -
Anyone regularly transferring money from an Indian bank account to a UK one? There seem to be restrictions on trading in Rupees which make the situation a bit trickier than other currencies.
xe.com don't trade Rupees, but it seems TorFX.com will. Anyone used these, or have other suggestions, e.g. having accounts with an international bank in India and UK...?
I'm currently discussing a job in bangalore, but if I can't transfer GBP 900 a month back to my UK account to cover debt repayments, then it might mean I can't take the job.
Thanks.0 -
