Anybody tried the £20 amazon voucher deal for a transfer with Azimo as currently listed on the article? To get the £20 Amazon voucher, you need to transfer the equivalent of £500+ via SWIFT or bank transfer before 11.59pm on Tue 28 Feb using the code JANSALE. You'll need to enter the code in the 'promo code' box on the payment page, before you confirm the transfer and pay.
I have entered the code JANSALE which it accepts and provides a description of the code as "Fee free" and nothing about an Amazon voucher. Anybody else tried it and got the voucher? As if the code is wrong I'd rather try for the quidco cashback.
Thanks
EDITED TO ADD
I contacted Azimo customer services and they confirmed the code will give the £20 amazon voucher.0 -
I am trying to use it now, the JANSALE code didn't work for me (somethings about only on new transactions even though i haven't made any transactions, i think its because the first transaction I tried to make got cancelled)... so I contacted customer services and they gave me a new code - but The haven't specified if it will give me their £20 amazon voucher, I am still waiting for a reply- super annoying.
EDIT:
The JANSALE didn't work because my first attempt of transferring money was cancelled- this is seen as a first transaction even though I didn't put any payment details or confirm the transaction- it just went to awaiting funds (one aspect of the process I do not like). I was given a new code but it was to get my fee free (which is already valid for new customers so It made no difference to me)...
As I was only using azimo because of the promo, and how complicated the process is I am going to stick to my usual way of sending money.0 -
We have used several different transfer companies to send funds to Switzerland, usually when they have some kind of promotion. We used to use Transferwise which is Peer2Peer but would now have to pay the transfer fee. We were wondering about UKForex which was fee free and Peer2Peer according to the MSE article until recently, but it has now dropped off the list.
On investigation, it is now called OFX. It claims to be fee free but doesn't say if it is still Peer2Peer. Any info?
We have had problems in the past with a couple of firms claiming to be fee free, but who use an intermediary bank which does charge a fee. We are currently in negotiation with FC Exchange (used because of the MSE offer) who don't understand why we are being charged a fee, but have promised to refund it.
Thanks for any information.0 -

Hi
I have booked a villa and need to use my credit card for payment I know I can use PayPal but when I calculated (pounds to euros) the charge was £147 I am sending € 2700 is there any other way I can do this that would cost less?
Any help appreciated0 -
Well, if you pay by a card and this card charges for currency conversion (2.5-3% typically), you can't avoid the charge. There are cards that don't charge: Top Travel Spending Cards
However, how on earth can it be £147?: 147/2340=6.3% (!)
How did you calculate this? And why Paypal if you pay by a credit card? If you mean using a CC to load PP account and then trasfer the money, do you realise that you don't have any protection if it's some conman on the other end?0 -
I assume the charge you quote is from PayPal. The answer is - don't use PayPal; they seem to be notoriously expensive.
You can use the Monito comparison site (see link above) to see who does the transfer most cheaply. The Top Travel Spending Cards are those best for spending whilst abroad and may not necessarily be best for international transfers - so be careful.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I have been looking at leaving some savings in National Savings before moving abroad, they have an international payments service with no fee. I know their interest rates are not the best but has anyone used this service? and can you make a deposit then use that to transfer overseas. I am assuming as the service is government backed so I assume that your money should be safe. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this and if so do the exchange rates compare.0

I would have thought that depositing money into a National savings account and then immediately asking them to transfer them abroad would ring alarm bells in their compliance security team and they might block the account?0
