Moving music from ipod to new ipod?

Hi,

I have searched this forum and google but think I need some advice before I go through with this.

Basically I have an Ipod Video and am thinking of getting one of these nifty Ipod touch however my main concern is my itunes purchases.

I think that itunes purchases can only be used on 1 ipod? If this is correct, how can i sync a new ipod to my current itunes library? (with as little hassel as possible?)

I have read about something called idump that could help, however as I am a bit of a technophobe, I would appreciate your help

thanks

There's no limit to the number of iPods you can put a protected iTunes track on.
  • for what it's worth, i use the winamp ipod plugin - i've never actually bought any music off itunes though so i wouldn't know where it stands with regards to that, but i do know that on the rare occasions i've had to sync my music library with my ipod, the winamp plugin has happily copied the whole lot off to my hard drive with no issues at all.

there's also a nifty little ipod utility called "floola" that i really like but i don't think it's entirely 100% windows compatible.

if you're on linux, it works like an absolute charm however :)

Sorry for sounding thick, but in effect would I just be able to stick a new ipod in and everything that is in my library, will transfer over to my new ipod?
