I know its been a while but I am still here....
Starting a new job role this week, still in the same dept but I've been in my current role for 3 years and now its time to try something different. I've has some thank you letters and chocolates from some of the people that I have regularly dealt with, I will now be dealing with a lot of embassies and governmental departments in the fight against financial crime and money laundering.
Have my three monthly blood test at the Dr's tomorrow, I quite like being stuck with needles now-its a bit morbid but I really like seeing how they do it. I once asked a nurse how they train and practice and she smiled and said that I was her first ever live patient- I love a medical practitioner with a sense of humour !
Went to my first bbq of the year yesterday, had to come home early as I was freezing, where is this global warming when you need it, So far it has been "proper" hot just two days this month, I hope July will fair better.
My friend came round with her new born, its the biggest 3 week old baby that I have ever seen and can barely fit into its bath and if you stand her up she reaches her mums waist. It was soon feeding time and my friend just wopped 'em out and got on with it, I didn't know where to look, World cup on the tv or free breasts. After stairing politely at the tv for a minute or two I just bit the bullet turned and (copped an eyeful) said "wow, your babylon's have got well massive". It was the an ideal ice breaker and I may store it for later use. Talking of the World cup, what a shower of sh1te, I hear they've got massive floods in Scotland due to 5 million Scots p1ssing themselves laughing. Ramble on...0 -

Is there anyone you know who can carshare with you to work? It could cut down on petrol & parking, and can be quite sociable too which is kinda important if you can't afford a few drinks down the pub with your mates.
I don't know much about mortgages, but if you're on a re-payment mortgage is it possible for you to switch so you're paying the interest only? There may be a penalty to pay for switching but if it's not much, it may be worth it in the long run.
Alternatively, do you have a family member you can move in with for a year or two so you can rent out your whole flat? It's not uncommon for someone in your position to move back in with their parents for a while to get back on track, and renting out the whole flat to one tenant could cover your mortgage, building insurance AND give a bit extra towards paying off the credit cards, and at the same time you won't have the same utility bills to have to pay either.0 -

All sorted now thanks for the tips ! All the problems started Nov 08 and with the help of this site and its members and Payplan I am doing ok now. I like your advice about the car sharing to keep costs down, I am currently fuelling my car for free with home made recycled fuel which costs about £10 for 50 litres as opposed to £59.50 at the pumps. I have mse every area but am always on the look out for more penny pinching ideas.0 -
