Joint name cheque

I'm hoping someone can give me the right answer for this but i think i'm just clutching at straws  We've received a cheque today for Mr & Mrs but unfortunately we're not married (not for the want of trying!) Is there anything we can do other than return the cheque and get it changed? Looks like my OH is going to get another dig about it

Just bank it - they'll never check unless the drawer questions is when it leaves their bank.0

Have you got a joint account? Shouldn't be a problem to pay it into there.
I'm assuming that the "Mr" of the two of you isn't married to someone else - i.e. there isn't another relevant Mr and Mrs X.0 -
I don't think we'd get away with putting it into just my partner's account would we? I had a similar thing a few months ago with a cheque in our joint names and nowhere would take it other than where we have an account in both names :-(0

The only reason I suggest it is because I've gotten away with it many times before - it usually helps if one banks it with a few other cheques, from you maybe0

We do have a joint account but in our right names. There's no way of proving there is no mrs so wasn't sure if they'd insist on it going in a mr & mrs account0 -

If they catch you, and its a company that sent you the cheque ask em to stop it rather then send it back - you should get it back faster0
