Cabot or Monument - debt sold on....

Does anyone have any experience of a situation where they are claiming from a DMC ?
I had a card with MONUMENT which was sold to CABOT (if that's the current jargon) and I sent Martin's template letter requesting charges to Monument as per their address here on the forum.
Was I correct>
Am I hitting my head against a brick wall>
