Just need a "you did the right thing" response

Just noticed I got overpaid this month by about £250. Phoned pay office and they said "no - it'll be right". I told them that I didn't think it was so they agreed to go check. Came back to me and I have been overpaid - so they're going to take it off next months.

Folk in office think I am mad for letting them know - but I did the right thing didn't I? (Oh and its NHS if that makes a difference)

    What were you thinking???

When they said "no - it'll be right" you should have said "OK then" lol

You did the right thing. Chances are they'd have spotted your mistake at some point and you'd have to pay it back.

Not sure I'd have been so forceful once they said it was right, though!

You did the right thing and now you've got a shiny gold star on your HR record which is better than money in the bank !

Not sure what payroll will get when they try and explain to the Finance Director "Computer said no " :rotfl:

Yes you did the right thing. Anything else is theft and immoral.

You did the right thing. Shame some of the managers with non jobs in the NHS do not follow your example and hand their salaries back !!! http://images.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_images/smilies/biggrin.gif
  • Well done, you totally did the right thing. A clear conscience is worth way more than money. I like this quote...
