I was wondering if someone with access could sign up for us...A sneaky thought occurs, could I use someone else's log-in (with their permission of course) or would it detect my subterfuge?
Second on the list if anyone is offering
 embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -
For those that are having trouble have you tried it through Firefox or Internet Explorer?
It might work for one but not the other. Worth a go maybe! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

I wouldn't have thought so, because it is a technical issue with your ISP....A sneaky thought occurs, could I use someone else's log-in (with their permission of course) or would it detect my subterfuge?
I signed up before I realised it was live streaming (I don't have a tv lisence) but you can add Plusnet to the list of ISP's that work :j
If you want to try then it might be a idea to go to a library or somewhere similar and hope you get lucky.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

i reckon its location based. I cant think of any other reason why some people with BT will work and some wont..TurkishDelight wrote: »I wouldn't have thought so, because it is a technical issue with your ISP....

the thing that gets me with this is their statement about watching it "on holiday"
if im in an internet cafe in egypt my isp is hardly going to be Bt, Sky, Vm or the likes so why are they discriminating against you signing up
quite simply i think if you are holidaying ouside the UK then this wont be available at all - therefore why sign up at all or worry about whether you are able to with your current isp as all [15 current] channels can be viewed online with any isp by going direct to the channels own website
All BBC Channels
All ITV Channels
All CH4 Channels
All CH5 Channels

I just signed up with no problems but when I had a quick look I don't see anywhere where you can watch what was on yesterday or the day before. In other word, I don't see the catch-up part only what is on TV now. Only really want it for the time I'm lucky enough to afford to go home to the States for a visit so I don't miss Eastenders but I can watch that on BBC iPlayer when I do get Stateside.
When I went to Greece I couldn't use any of the catch up sites because I was abroad

Manchester is in the area previously operated by Cable & Wireless. The VirginMedia network is split up into Ex-Telewest, Ex-C&W and Pure NTL.
It would appear NTL got their act together in the old days and got some peering agreements together whilst the other companies didn't bother, and that is why some people on VirginMedia who are in a Pure NTL area can access it and those in ex-Telewest or ex-C&W cannot (complicated but it's how the network operates at the moment).
As for people saying it is location based - IT IS NOT. Peering is a physical joining of ISP's networks to offer high-bandwidth services with little/no overheads. The whole idea of peering is to share resources. It's only in it's infancy at the moment (the BBC and Absolute Radio (Previously Virgin Radio) ) are the only two media companies I know of (apart from the one in this thread) that are trialling peering technologies.
An ISP has to configure themselves with the settings of the peering company (in this case the provider offering the TV streams) to allow it's customers to make use of the high-bandwidth streams.
It will be a slow process getting ISP's to peer but I believe once they do it will open up a whole host of high-bandwidth media applications to th eend user (i.e. me and thee!)0 -
