:beer: Does Section 75 cover the financial losses caused by the cancellation of flights, etc. due to illness where their is no insurance or where insurance denies liability?

You cancelled the flights? Then its something you'd look to the insurance for.

Section 75 (i believe) is something where by the goods from the company are delivered to you. So in this case if the Airline cancelled the flight & wouldn't refund then Section 75 would be applicable.

However, you've cancelled the flights, so i'd say the insurance would be the area to look at.

Section 75 covers the consumer in event of a business going into liquidation (airline collapse), a faulty product, non-delivery of goods etc or put another way a breach of contract/misrepresentation between you and the retailer.

I'm afraid it doesn't apply to a cancellation by yourself through illness of your own or a family members illness etc . Travel or possibly home insurance with an added condition would cover this providing there weren't any specific exclusions built into the policy which there usually are, especially when you have pre-existing conditions.

If you elaborate a little more people may be able to point you in the right direction to something more specific.
