joint accounts?

thought i had posted this the other day but cant find it. i added ex husband on to my account of 25 years standing a few years ago. we broke up a few weeks ago and although there are no funds in account there is a £3000 over draft that i wont get with a new account. i cant get in touch with him disappeared off face of earth and no reply by phone. without his signature i cant take him off the account or close it, so what can i do??

The bank may remove you from the account at your request - if you're worried about liability issues.

If you want to keep the overdraft, then you're going to have to contact him and arrange something, I suppose. Bear in mind that your bank may re-assess the overdraft if you're reverting it to a sole account, if their decision was made on a joint basis initially.

i cant contact him at all, have tried every method. there must be something i can do, how long would they just leave it as a joint?
