Dear all,
I have also posted this over on shop but don't drop but on second thoughts decided it might provoke more of a response here.
Due to my house being burgled over christmas I need to get a new laptop as soon as possible, at around the £600 - £700 mark (although I don't mind if it's cheaper of course).
Dell have this Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook for £599 inc vat and delivery (spec below); but can anyone help me find a better deal?
Many thanks and a happy new year!!

Take a look over at eBuyer - they usually have some good deals regarding laptops. http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=14742841304&action=c2hvd3N1YmNhdGVnb3J5X3NlYXJjaA==&cat_uid=10&stid=5
What are you going to use it for? If it is for just browsing the internet and a bit of word processing etc. then you won't need a high spec machine or anything. However, if you are planning to play games on the laptop, you'll need to watch the specifications more and get something with decent graphics, sufficient Hard Drive space (although most come with this nowadays anyway), decent screen size etc.

Thanks tigermatt, ebuyer look like they have some good deals available. I aren't interested in gaming particularly, but want multimedia functions, e.g. photo-editing, making CDs/DVDs etc. I am also going to try a bit of webdesign with dreamweaver; and need it to run powerpoint etc as I sometimes work from home. It also needs to be wireless enabled.0 -
Dont forget when buying an Acer the customer support is pretty well
non-existent and having repaired one last week the build quality is
something else to be worried about.. a good deal? not in the long run.
Hewlett Packard would be my choice......
This is only from my experience... so the choice is still yours.
