you have £50k savings with HSBC
OR
You have a £250K mortgage with HSBC
otherwise they can charge you for it, £20 per month.
If you do have 50k in the savings, would you make more in interest else where? if yes, its not free.
If your mortgage is 250k would you get a better deal elsewhere? also, having the prem account as a bonus to your mortgage may make you think twice about changing it, as if you do you will start to pay the £20.

One additional piece of info which I think is most imp:
Advance/ Plus customers get breakdown cover and some life insurance which Premier customers DO NOT GET.
