Ok, so we decided to opt for Sky + (first time with Sky) only now we have been told that it won't work because it needs two cables, well I say it won't work, but you aren't able to record something whilst watching a different channel, as there would be no 2nd feed. I'm a bit annoyed about that because they never mentioned that on the phone, even when I said I lived in a high rise, anyhow, I'm not TOO bothered because I managed to get the box for free and I'm just paying the £30 installation.
I got switched through to some technical place that fits the boxes in this area (the woman on the phone didn't know what she was talking about, and kept going back on pages and had to get my details 6 times!!) she mentioned something about, the picture quality (i'm sure she said that) might not be as great because I'm in a communal, but if I wanted, I could get some sort of dual wire (?) and the engineer would fit it, for £160 (ouch)!
What I'm wondering is, is she talking about them fitting another Sky socket on the wall (Scart hole thing!) or is she meaning so higher quality cable that will enhance the picture quality? I read somewhere I could buy some kind of box that you could plug the 2 sky + cables into and apparently it would allow me to record/watch a different show, but they cost around £100, and if that's the case Id rather pay the extra £60 for something I know would definatley work!
Long rambly post, what I wanna know is, was the dithering woman on the phone talking about a cable that will cost me £160, or would they pop another socket thing in the wall for the 2nd cable.....or would that cost considerably more than £160? ( I have a feeling it does :rotfl: )

You need to establish if you can get two feeds from your communal dish, it may well be that there is only a single LNB feed available to you. Suggest you get on to the management company to find out. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
