cheap stockpot and how to make stock ??

hi all.
i am just starting to cook from scratch and would love to know the following;
1.where can i buy a large stock pot at a reasonable price?
2.how do i make chicken stock and veg stock from scratch?
3.what can i use the stock for?? !!

well that was ruined by lending ex oh £2450 to move out!!!!!! now estimate 21st march 2006hoping to be debt free by end of feb 2006 - fingers crossed !!

    i make my stock by using the left over bones from a chicken, bay leaf, 2 stalks celery, onion, 2 carrots and some peppercorns and water. Heat the whole lot in a saucepan til boiling then simmer for 40mins.
