change settings?

hi, i'm poorly but will try and be cohearant. bear with me.

I have litterally just sighned up to tiscali BB from tiscali anytime dial up. To stop my self incuring call charges during the swapover (they automatically downgrade to PAYG) i am going on AOL for a months free trail and then cancelling on BB is ready.

Now when I sign up for the AOL should I write down all my internet connections details like my number that I dial or can I just carry on, and get all new when i recive the modem.

Hope that made sense, not running on full power at the mo' :(

No you don't need the dial-up settings when your broadband comes through - it doesn't use a phone number to connect to the internet - the adsl signal is permanently comming down the line hence the reason you can use the phone at the same time as being connected to the internet.

You will get a cd with your modem - follow the instructons provided with this and all should be fine

Remember to cancel your aol contract also before your trial is up.

Be careful with the AOL payments, as they always take it as a card payment and NOT a direct debit, so they make it very difficult to cancel.

I have used the free trials before and they have taken money once, but it was easy to claim back from them, provided the BB comes though quick enough I should be able to cancel within the next 2 weeks

BT usually say they will connectthe Broadband within 10 days of your order being received, so you should be OK so long as you don't live too far from the exchange and you don't have any problems receiving broadband...

    Enjoy. ;)
